As part of our commitment to the San Diego drum community; in conjunction with Studio West – I am delighted to announce that our next drum clinic has been confirmed. On Friday May 11th 2012 (Doors 630pm, Show 7pm), we will be hosting an evening with legendary drummer and world-class clinician Gregg Bissonette. Our confirmed co-sponsors for this event are Mapex, Hudson Music, Vic Firth, Gator Cases, DW Drum Workshop, LP Latin Percussion, Zildjian Cymbals and Remo Drum Heads.
Gregg Bissonette is a first-call session drummer in Los Angeles, and currently the drummer for the Ringo Starr All Star Band. Gregg’s impressive resume includes albums with Santana, David-Lee-Roth, Don Henley, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Ray Charles and world renowned guitarists Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. His work in soundtrack recordings has included TV hits such as Friends and King of the Hill, as well as the blockbuster movies Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada and The Bucket List. You can view a full discography right here.
I have hosted two events with Gregg in England. He delivers a highly entertaining, extremely well crafted drum clinic that drummers of all levels can relate to and enjoy. His messages are balanced with a wonderful sense of humor, and he is the model of how professionalism and a strong work ethic can help you be successful in the music business, and your development with the drum set.
A drum clinic is an intimate event that every drummer and enthusiast should have the opportunity to see; regardless of your level of playing, or your aspirations. This is an opportunity for you to see a first call session drummer up close, in a studio environment. Typically, the evening involves performance (demonstration of techniques, playing along with backing tracks), questions and answers, and a chance to mingle with dozens of other drummers and drum enthusiasts. There will also be a raffle with a chance to win some cool drum/Studio West related prizes.
As always, our venue is Studio A at Studio West. Ticket prices are $30, and are set to cover our costs only. Tickets are on-sale now for this event. Please don’t miss out on this one! To book your tickets, call Peter Dyson or Jesse Maxson on 858 592 9497. Credit and Debit Cards are accepted.
