Roland TD20Lessons are always on an individual “one to one” basis, and never in groups or class room styles. All lessons are individually tailored towards the student’s area of interest, level, and objectives. This simply cannot be achieved in a group.

I am available to visit your house, or have limited spaces at my studio in Rancho Penasquitos. All lessons are one hour duration. I am always amazed at how many teachers offer lessons of thirty minutes, many for the same price that I charge for one hour. (See rates). I firmly believe that a productive and beneficial lesson requires the absolute minimum of one hour to allow for warm-up, review, new topics, questions and answers. Similarly, I would never recommend more than one lesson per week, to give you time to absorb and practice what you have learned in previous sessions.

The lessons are completely tailored to your requirements, and can include, but are not limited to: music notation, sticking patterns, different music styles, drum-set familiarization (beginners), practice techniques, grip/stick technique, and most importantly, how to become a musical drummer, and not a static, lifeless drum machine.

My studio is equipped with the latest in electronic drum technology. I use a Roland TD20 drum-set, and have a Roland PM3 powered monitor. They feel great to play, and keep the neighbours happy by controlling the noise. They also allow you to play along to music at a sensible mix and volume. I wish they made the coffee as well….

"I can say that without question; Simon's  work is totally professional, knowledgeable, and caring, due to his enthusiasm and experience working with drummers in the industry for many years, and of course being a fine drummer himself".
